Taupo Historic GP

Following on from the success of the inaugural Taupo Historic GP in January 2017, the 2018 edition of this feature event of the Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park annual calendar sees the return of Formula 5000, the thundering 5.0 Litre V8-engined single-seaters that raced in the USA, Europe, New Zealand Australia from 1968 to 1976.
A full field of cars from Europe, the USA, Australia and New Zealand will contest the Taupo Historic GP trophy.

Septuagenarian Aucklander, Ken Smith who finished a close second to Englishman Michael Lyons in January 2017 leads the locals attempting to put their hands on the prestigious Taupo Historic GP trophy.

The concert will feature George Thorogood & The Destroyers, Alanis Morissette and Colin Hay of Men At Work fame, who will be bringing to Taupo and New Zealand their unmistakable hits as part of a three date national tour! The tour will also play concerts in Queenstown and Whitianga - hot on the tails of the sell out 2017 Summer Concert Tour which saw audiences of 45,000 across the three shows.

It's 30 years since the Lilliput Caravan Club held their first rally in Taupo and they're celebrating by returning to Taupo this Waitangi Weekend.
Among a variety of activities the club be holding a 'Show 'n' Shine' of Lilliput Caravans and classic cars in the carpark at Taupo Museum.

Come along on Friday 2nd February to help them celebrate and fall in love with the world of Lilliput Caravans.

These shows mark 25 years for the multiple platinum selling and award winning Salmonella Dub and will be especially memorable with the featured return of Tiki Taane who worked with the band from 1996 until 2006.
